...Kennedy is dead. Fabrics can be torn & shredded and fall apart. Social fabrics are the only thing that hold us together. This is a time to be strong. The national tendency under such devastating displays of violence is to collapse. I am afraid that a collapse would engender relapse, relapse into violence triggered by despair. I'm trying to be strong. I'm trying to direct all my energies to positive things. Kennedy believed in our people. We have to trust ourselves. We are living, therefore we have to give ourselves to life. So many living people are dead. So many people have commited mental suicide. People are so afraid. I don't believe we were born to be afraid. This is something man has created by and for himself, probably unconsciously. Maybe this is the problem, man hasn't been facing choices and consciously making a choice---really choosing, but instead he has been letting other forces outside of himself control him and he isn't even aware that the he in him is dead perhaps murdered. When someone as influential as Kennedy is killed it makes people every where face the reality that it takes guts and courage to be human and to be what you are and believe what you are. Kennedy was a leader who could help people do this. He was helping the establishment understand minority groups. He was helping us understand what it means to be human and that each individual is an intergral part of the social fabric. Now his voice has been silenced but not really just physically. We all have to find our voice and the medium through which we can make it be heard...We all have a voice and we all have to listen. I'm very upset but I'm glad I can feel pain.Love, (a student)

... Kennedy está muerto. Las telas se pueden rasgar, triturar y deshacer. Los tejidos sociales son lo único que nos mantiene unidos. Este es un momento para ser fuerte. La tendencia nacional bajo tan devastadoras demostraciones de violencia es el colapso. Temo que un colapso engendre una recaída, una recaída en la violencia desencadenada por la desesperación. Estoy tratando de ser fuerte. Estoy tratando de dirigir todas mis energías a cosas positivas. Kennedy creía en nuestra gente. Tenemos que confiar en nosotros mismos. Estamos viviendo, por eso tenemos que entregarnos a la vida. Tanta gente viva está muerta. Tanta gente se ha suicidado mentalmente. La gente tiene mucho miedo. No creo que nacimos para tener miedo. Esto es algo que el hombre ha creado por sí mismo y para sí mismo, probablemente de forma inconsciente. Tal vez este es el problema, el hombre no se ha enfrentado a elecciones ni ha hecho conscientemente una elección, realmente eligiendo, sino que ha estado permitiendo que otras fuerzas fuera de él mismo lo controlen y ni siquiera es consciente de que el él en él está. muerto quizás asesinado. Cuando alguien tan influyente como Kennedy es asesinado, la gente en todas partes se enfrenta a la realidad de que se necesita valor y valentía para ser humano y ser lo que es y creer lo que es. Kennedy era un líder que podía ayudar a la gente a hacer esto. Estaba ayudando al establecimiento a comprender a los grupos minoritarios. Nos estaba ayudando a comprender lo que significa ser humano y que cada individuo es una parte integral del tejido social. Ahora su voz ha sido silenciada, pero no solo físicamente. Todos tenemos que encontrar nuestra voz y el medio a través del cual hacer que se escuche ... Todos tenemos una voz y todos tenemos que escuchar. Estoy muy molesto, pero me alegro de poder sentir dolor.
